Tooth Extractions

The most common reasons for tooth extractions include severe tooth decay or infection which makes it impossible to repair the tooth. Advanced gum disease may also require a tooth to be removed so it does not affect the supporting tissues and bone structures. Teeth may need to be removed due to orthodontic issues in order to create room for more teeth to erupt into position. Wisdom teeth may need to be extracted to prevent teeth from being pushed out of position, especially after orthodontic treatment.

What to Expect after an Extraction

We will give the patients a list of home care instructions on how to care for the area. The most important instructions involve what not to do so that the clotting process is not interrupted especially during the first 24 hours after the procedure.
